The Year 7&8 cendicate have joined the Zespri challenge. Every student recieved a denometer to measure their own steps. We fill in our steps each day online and can see how much our class is doing. In total I have 126546 steps and counting. We can also get bonus points for the amount of food, screentime, sleep, and activities we do. I think it's important for us to do the Zespri challenge because we can improve on ourselves. We can get fitter and healthier by just doing this.

Kaylis Peneha Awarded Steven Adams Basketball Scholarship
Kaylis was awarded with a scholarship in september. The Steven Adams scholarship allows Kaylis to train for his basketball at a high rate and take classes at scott's college. It would have been a great honour for Kaylis to recieve this scholarship. I've known kaylis since I was about five, and it's a bit sad that he'll be leaving. He will be home on the weekends but I won't see him at school. I know he will learn a lot at scott's and he'll turn into a great basketball player!

Labour weekend
Lion Dance
On wednesday, the year 7&8 cendicate all had turns going to the hall and learning the lion dance. I had bandquest on so I came after my class had went. Whaea Destine sent me and Tumoana to the next class so we could have a turn. It was funny because my sister was in that class. The man welcomed us in and showed us what to do. When it was me and Tumoana's turn, it was really confusing because I couldn't see anything. There was a lot of funny moments when we were watching everyone else!

Mandotory Vaccinations Announced
All school staff and also home educators must be vaccinated by 1 January 2022. This is a smart move by the goverment and I strongly agree with it. By vaccinating all school staff, we are protecting our tamariki so they can have a future without too much trouble with covid-19. We could also get the boost we need in vaccinations to reach 90%. Our country might not need lockdowns any more because of this rule and I'm grateful for it. Why should we have to make sacrifises because people won't get vaccinated. I think the goverment made the right call for everyone in this country.

My Dream Pet
If I could have any pet, it would be a Dog. They are cuddly, cute and are always nice. I would take it for walks and I would play a lot of games with it. Sometimes, we could even sleep in the same bed. My sister would love a dog as much as I would as well.
Dogs are my favourite pet because they're so playful. I love to play with them and be active outside. We could run together and play all day long.
